What kind of people would benefit from etiquette training?
- Anyone who comes in contact with other human beings can benefit. To quote Jonathan Swift, “Good manners is the art of making people comfortable. Whoever makes the fewest people uncomfortable has the best manners." This applies to anyone who interacts with others in either business or social situations. In the business world, proper etiquette is critical to making good impressions with your customers and your management. In social situations it is important to make those around you comfortable, whether hosting a party, or dining at an event.
Isn’t etiquette just an old-fashioned idea that no longer applies to us today?
- Good manners is one of those things that never goes out of style. Many people have neglected the importance of manners and etiquette to their disadvantage. You may be rude and offensive to people and not even know it! You may have been turned down for a job, promotion, date, or social occasion because you lack basic manners and etiquette. This is easy to fix!
Why should I pay to have someone teach me stuff that is just common sense?
- Often, we just haven’t been exposed to the proper way to do things. Etiquette isn’t a matter of common sense, but rather, a learned skill that used to be taught in classrooms everywhere. The lessons are timeless and priceless.
Will I look ignorant or uneducated when I attend a workshop?
- No, you will never be placed in a position of being judged, embarrassed or evaluated. After all, good manners is the art of making other people feel comfortable around you. We will make you feel comfortable and have fun while you learn skills that will help you succeed. We expand from your current knowledge base and help make you more graceful in dealing with others.
What type of workshops do you offer and how long do they last?
- We offer half-day etiquette workshops that last about 4 hrs. Breaks are included and there will be time for questions and answers.
- We offer a 4-hour “hands on” dining skills workshop that is usually scheduled to include the lunch hour. A catered lunch will serve as a teaching tool to introduce and reinforce your dining skills. You will have one break period and a question and answer session as time permits.
- We offer a full day workshop that covers both etiquette and dining skills. This workshop includes a 5 course lunch. This will have two break periods and the tutorial luncheon. The etiquette skills will be covered before, during, and after the tutorial luncheon. This day is designed for 9am – 5pm with the lunch being from 11 – 1.
- We have four distinct 1-hour class seminars that cover a variety of basic etiquette skills. These may be taken as individual classes or as a series of 4 weekly seminars.
- There is a special 90-minute session available for your upcoming special event that is custom-tailored to your small group.
- One-hour individual consultations may be scheduled at your request to cover your specific needs.
Do you charge me by the minute, or for the first time we talk?
- No, our initial meeting and needs assessment is complementary.
What if I don’t want anyone to know that I need etiquette help?
- We never publish your name or photograph without your permission. We keep your information in the utmost of confidentiality. After all, it is bad manners to name-drop or gossip.
Where do you conduct these workshops?
- We bring the training to your site, either at your place of business or other arranged meeting facility.
